The thickness was good, not too heavy though. Fabric is nice and curtains were same color on both back and front. They truly blocked all the light in my nursery but I did have them hanging in front of my blinds closed. However, have tried other blackout curtains in the same way and they were not blackout just light filtering. Beware, I made the mistake of ordering my measurements but because of the grommets the curtain width was not wide enough to cover entire window as a rod pocket or back tab would have since the grommets prevent them from laying straight across. I would recommend, bought the light grey color.
